any idea what something like this is worth. i've been looking for a couple of days off and on and kind find no comparable. my mother has this and an old 1927 g. e. fridge in another thread. i'm afraid i don't know much about either except both work very well.

As With Many Other Vintage Large Appliances
Worth and or what someone is willing to pay will vary greatly.
Persons have tried to sell nearly new or at least gently used wringer washers, ironers, early automatic washing machines and so forth at dear prices, only to have no takers. Others have tried nearly giving the item away with the same results.
At current exchange rates would say nearly $200 to over $300 (changing pounds to dollars), may be a bit generous. It is all going to come down to how much someone really wants the item. Have seen almost new out of the box Speed Queen wringer washers languish on eBay at nearly $50 with no takers.

Wringer Washers Are Actually Quite Effective
If used properly for laundry.
Because you are lifing items out of the dirty water soils aren't filtered through the wash when water drains as with most modern top loading machines. Also the squeezing action of the wringer's rollers force dirt laden water out of textiles.
Now here is the payoff! Wash and or rinse waters can be reused to save resources.
Vintage detergents used to give directions for wringer washers that had an initial dose for the first load, then how much one needed to add for each subsequent wash.
