I found a new Sunbeam Carousel Rotisserie at a sale last Fri. Have seen these before, but they were always priced too high. This was $5.00-new! Made a broasted chicken on Halloween that was out of this world. Great appliance with the fat dripping in the pan, and was so moist. Does anyone have the owners manual to this nifty appliance. This is the one with the metal body and glass dome at the top. Thanks!
 
Hi Jon, I also have the Sunbeam Carousel Rotisserie. My mom got it in 1965 I believe. It sure does make a great Chicken. I have the orginal instruction book and if you would like a copy I would be happy to send it to you. Did you also get the Shish Kabob attachment? I also have the instruction book for that. I haven't used this in a while and now you have made me hungry. Guess I'll have to go out and get a chicken. Terry
 
vs. Ronco

How does that rotisserie compare to the normal horzontal rotisserie like the Ronco and the George Foreman? We have a Ronco and it works nicely. It's very quiet but it does get very hot obviously.
 
HI Jason, I would say that it works very much the same way only I always felt it was easier to load. You didn't have to worry about the meat being balanced on the spit. I have friends who have the Ronco and they love it and I must say the food I have had from it has been delicious.

I had a roommate and another friend who have Roncos, and they really like them. The only thing I've noticed is that the electric cord really isn't adequate for the load. It's not HPN cord (the blac, rubber-like type they use on most heating appliances) but more lke plastic lamp cord. I've noticed these cheap cords get REALLY hot, to the point they're untouchable. Over the years this will not be good.
 
Yay for electric cooking!

Don (jetaction) brought his Sunbeam down last weekend for a visit with a local chicken ;-) and it worked beautifully. We put the chicken in - sans feathers - and went down to do some washing. We came up a while later, made potatoes and cornbread to put in the regular oven and a little while later, dinner was done. All the fat dripped off the bird and into the well below the rack, which could be used for gravy if desired.
