Suds:

Hyacinth's "Royal Doulton with the hand-painted periwinkles" is one of the show's snobbiest, most subtle jokes.

The china used on the show is called "Braganza," and properly speaking, it's not actually Royal Doulton at all - it's from Colclough China, a subsidiary of Royal Doulton. Also, as such things go, it's not a particularly expensive pattern, so Hyacinth's veneration of her china is based on a little exaggeration, which of course is how she is about most things.

Here's a photo of Colclough's "Braganza."

this is getting good

We had a magnavox console close to what is above - I`ll always remember after turning the set off watching that little dot that would remain on the screen for about a minute - My parents loved magnavox.

I think ours was a 1960 or 61 model do you by chance have a few more ads on the 1960 & 61 models like the above ?

I have seen a few of these on ebay over the years mostly in california.

If I see the one we had I`ll snatch it up quick.

Thanks for posting.

My Aunt Harriet in Pennsylvania had a similar set, in a slightly larger cabinet. I'd love to know if my cousin Carol got that and knew it was something special. Love that video you posted, I'm sure that model and a lot of other British sets appear in TV History, where I find my Magnavox pics. It's a great site.
Update! The Royal Television is currently bid at 50 pounds, with about 7 days remaining.

112561 Getting close but still not the one.

I appreciate the time taken for youre posting these .

From the looks of these pictures magnavox obviously was the cadillac of home intertainment back in there day .

My parents gave away our set in 1980 to my step sister 100 miles away - shortly after that - I became interested in it & wanted the set She said we donated it to the salvation army.

I missed it by 6 month`s.

Hard to tell but that console in the center toward the top above youre marker might be the one or pretty darn close.

The left & right side of the screen was mostly speaker area with some scrawl work the same as what they have runing along the bottom of the consoles.

Like I said that center console looks pretty close just hard to tell :)

Again I really appreciate youre posts.

What I`ll always remember about our magnavox was the fact it didn`t have UHF whitch meant I had to miss all the cartoon Channels :)

I`ll always remember the tv shows though such as 1 adam 12, The waltons & my favorite was dark shadows although my mom wasn`t to crazy about me watching that one she later told the baby sitter not to let me watch dark shadows :)

Those were the days !!!!!!!!!!!!!
