Vintage unopened Salvo tablets

On Ebay, appears to have been newly listed. I remember these well, my grandmother liked to use them. I could hear them clanking on the fins of her Whirlpool bakelite Surgilator until they dissolved.

have some for the collection but I don't use them, it gave me a rash back in the '60s and Mom didn't like the controlled dosing either. And thats whats gonna happen today with these new gel packs,( after all the kids die off from eating them!!) engineers don't understand laundry loads come in various sizes and various needs thats why powders will take over again.

Sale didn't last long!

When I posted this yesterday, the eBay auction was only a couple hours old = newly listed. When I checked last night, they'd been sold already. Hopefully someone here got them.

I agree totally with you though Jon, I really don't like controlled dosing detergents. Maybe I'm wrong, but in my mind one dose is perfect for a standard Kenmore, but not enough for a large capacity, but using two in a large is likely too much.

I love powders, I just hope that P&G improves their recently compacted powders, as what I've tried so far seems to want to dry up and get crusty as soon as the package is opened, to the point that I have to use the scoop as a scraper. The previous powder did not do that.

One Or Two Ebayers Are On A Misson to Corner The Salvo Table

Every single auction of those orange boxes of tablets has been sold either at BIN price or for good money.

Being as that may these things come and go. A few years ago boxes of vintage Ivory Snow powder was being gobbled up by a few committed eBayers. Then all of a sudden the shine wears off and sellers cannot give the things away.

I know why, its because they are making the powders too dense, some of that "filler" is really necessary to anti caking and not dusting up the place and holding the surfactants at bay for the wash tub.

 

When we get up and going you'll have to try my Rosalies' Zero Suds powder! We are close to launching stay tuned.

Imperial70 - that is a good idea, and I may do that. I have a friend here who has transferred his to a big tupperware like bin and its been fine.

I bought some awhile back just to try. My mom never would use it, and I was curious.

It dissolves just fine, has low suds and almost no scent. It's probably what, 20% phosphate? If only they still made it!

Does Rosalie's have phosphates or enzymes?
