freddy, todd, brian....
thank you guys for responding.
freddy:
thank you for the heads up on the local sale here in tucson. you're right, you don't see "vintage" washers come up for sale to often around here. but i have seen a couple, that other members in this group, posted one time. which really got me curious (but my mom would have probably killed me at that time!!!) ha ha ha ha.....
but since i bought my hoover 0510 twin tub washer, i think she realizes & knows, i'm not happy with our new whirlpool washer's gentle cycle & i am wanting something with a better gentle cycle. thank you again, so much for giving me the "heads-up" on that one local seller. i really do appreciate it freddy. ;o)
todd:
that was a good call there, noticing the ad was just for the dryer. like freddy, i thought that it was for both the washer & dryer too. but i was mislead (like freddy) by the seller, cuz he posted a picture of both the washer & dryer. which was probably done on purpose, to get people to "come in" & look. i was fooled too freddy!! LOL.....
brian:
thanks for the advice. to be honest, i've never really thought about the frigidaire 1-18, but recently since posting this question, i've tried to keep an open mind on the different options available out there. i'm not going to "rule-out" the frigidaire 1-18, but i think i still lean towards the back & forth agitation (just personal preference).
i think my ultimate machine would be a simplicity/speed queen, 2-speed, twin tub or something very similar, with a 2-speed or 3-speed. if it were an automatic. i would rather have a portable but if full-size is all that is available, then i'm ok with that. i can always adjust the water level for a smaller load.
thank you again freddy, todd, brian & everybody for the advice.
with much love,
christina (hippiedoll) ;o)
peace...
