What did people do with them?  Use them for paint trays?

broken and discarded...or someone thought, "these just take up valuable space." You're right, Ralph - I see more of these old refrigerators w/o the crispers, ice trays, etc. But they're "collectible" and "...I've seen these go for $5,000...and it's a great restoration project.."

The range is almost exactly like mine, except the control panel is different, with the clock centered on mine. I'm almost certain mine is a '53, as that is when it was purchased, though it could be a '54 if bought late in '53. I'm thinking the one shown is a '54 or possibly '55 model. Anyone know for sure?
