Hi everyone,

My Malleys Whirlpool belt drive 2196 pump has decided it wanted to leak shortly after fixing up the machine. I have tried pulling it apart to check the seals and clean them and put some graphite paste (I believe that’s what it is, it was spare stuff from putting it on front load washer seals) and that only made it leak worse.

If anyone knows where I can get a pump that has a recirculating ports on it that would be awesome or if anyone knows how to fix it.

Thanks for viewing this!image.jpg

In the US the PT# for that pump is 350367, there are dozens of them on Ebay from as little as $9 with mid price being $25-50, your machine looks to be in great shape from the little I can see.

The water pump was one of the most often replaced parts on a BD WP washer, you may want to buy a spare while you are at it if funds allow, however its unlikely this part will ever dry up anytime soon.

Greatly appreciate the help John!

I had a look at one that was on eBay and saw it was pretty pricey, but with the model number lookup it made it a whole lot easier to find a cheaper one!very thankful for that! Have ordered one now.

As for the machine it’s in pretty good used condition, the control panel isn’t great and the inner drum is showing some rust and wear. The outer drum was pretty far gone though, the top part of the drum had completely gone as well as the drain hole having a rust hole. But it has been now touched up with POR-15 and had some putty placed around and sanded to “rebuild” the drum. Mechanical speaking it’s pretty good aside from the motor bearing needing to be replaced.
