Vintage Whirlpool washer

I have a 1993 2 speed whirlpool washer. The designated cycle denotes a fast or slow agitation speed.

The washer will not agitate on the delicate cycle or last few minutes of permanent press when it should be slow speed.

Only fast speed agitation works.

Possible things to look at or suggestions would be appreciated.

Burned/loose wire on the motor?  Orange is low speed.

My one experience with the no low agitation problem was a timer problem, melted solder trace. Easy fix once located.
