Thanks for all that information guys. Incidentally, don't tend to stockpile loads of different detergents and in the last 12 months have moved away from using a separate whites/coloureds variants as I have read so many comments that there is pretty much no difference. I have just come to the end of a bottle of Ariel Gel and Bold Gel so was completely out of stock and I bought a small packet of Daz, which I rarely use so thought I would give it another spin. It was only afterwards that I popped into the Polish shop and saw this Vizir Colour powder and bought it on a bit of an impulse. I haven't used it yet but it does smell completely different to the Daz and doesn't smell like Ariel either. If it is the same quality as Daz I won't be disappointed. If it's good enough for the French and the Poles it is good enough for me!
I remember UK Tide very well as it was a powder that my Mum occasionally used in her twin tub. IIRC it came in a white and blue variant, which was not uncommon years ago. The old lady who lived next door to us was a Persil user but kept a box of Tide and used to add a sprinking of it to her rinse water. Heaven knows what she wished to achieve doing that. There were so many detergents available when I was a kid (Tide, Omo, Drive, Radiant, Dreft) as well as the ones that we still have.
Nick - hi, I am very well thanks, and hope you are too? Yes, it is a Kenwood Chef that I bought in 2002 brand new when I first moved into this house. I have a food processor (also Kenwood) which I still use but always wanted a Chef. Mum had one all of her married life and I hoped that I would get it when she passed away but it ended up with my sister and sadly, probably due to neglect, has since, tragically, been binned. I was not happy when I heard that. I have every attachment there is except the Grain Mill for which I would have no use and on the few occasions I have sought them out on Ebay they seem to go for a high price - more than I am prepared to pay. New, they are absurdly overpriced and unless I was having to but some special wheat to make bread due to special dietary needs I don't see the point in them.
