Waiting for Sears Model 44152 & have questions....

We ordered a Sears #44152 made by Frigidaire and not having owned any Frigidaire laundry equipment previously, was wondering how they rate as far as repairs go.
Previous unit was a Crosley/Maytag TL and due to the large loads I feed it, the washer would rock and roll it's way around the laundry room and the laundry was not wringing out dry enough; therefore taking too many cycles in the dryer.

I was told that a FL was the way to go, eliminating the agitator and having more room in the drum for the king-sized comforters I wash frequently. The cost was substantially higher, but I wanted trouble-free operation so I bought the FL.

Also I am hoping that the cost savings in water will justify the increased cost of the detergent required in the TL.

Another question I have regards bleach. I had bad experiences in the past with liquid chlorine bleach leaching through in subsequent loads and ruining colored clothes. I found a bleach tablet by Carbona and have had no trouble since. Am I able to use this in the FL?

Although Frigidaire's quality dropped after General Motors sold the line to White Consolidated Industries in the 70's, it seems to have picked up since Electrolux aquired the name in the 90's. The Electrolux/Frigidaire front loaders that have been produced the past eight years have consistently been rated the least trouble-prone machines by owners in the Consumer Reports reader survey. Frigidaire top-loaders were rated second from the top for reliability during February 2005 reader survey. So you should feel pretty safe that your machine will give you years of good service.

You should be able to drop that bleach tab in the machine before you add the clothes. You may want to break it in half and only use part of it. The liquid bleach dispenser adds the bleach to the first rinse. The dispensers flush with water so it should get all the bleach out of the compartment. I have a Kenmore front loader, but have only used bleach in it once or twice in the past five years. Mine has never given me any trouble.

I have a GE front loading washer that is made by Frigidaire and ads the liquid bleach into the first deep rinse.I have never had any problems with it leaving any residue behind because it flushes itself out during the dispensing.The only thing to be carefull about is the resrvoir line in the bleach dispenser.do not go above it or it will syphon down imediately into the tub directly onto the clothes full strength.If you wash your whites in hot water (150 degrees F or higher)you shouldn't need to use chlorine bleach that often.The detergent along with the hot water will get those whites white.In a front loader that is.I can't say that for any of the top loaders.
