Today's new Ephemera posting is particularly good for Maytag fans so I wanted to post a heads up. It is a parts identification manual published originally in '66, but has some updates all the way to '77. This guide shows major washer, dryer, combo and wringer parts and information.

Here's a breakdown of it's sections:

Automatic, Dryer, Combination and Wringer Washer Serial No. Code
This is one of the best sections of the manual, it shows how to tell the exact month your automatic washer, dryer, wringer or combo was made from 1949 thru 1977 via the serial number!

Maytag Electric Motor Codes
This section shows how to date the motor on your Maytag machine.

Specification Changes
This is the other really neat section. It shows major specification changes and the date they happened to Maytag washers, dryers and combo's such as "Replaced unbalance mechanism with unbalance brake pads."

Major Parts
The following sections show images of parts, the part numbers, the models they were used on, the period in production and any comments related to these parts for the following items: Automatic Washer Timers, Combination Washer-Dryer Timers, Automatic Washer Water Valves, Combination Water Valves, Automatic Washer Lid Bases and Lids, Automatic Washer Top Covers, Automatic Washer Tub Covers, Dryer Top Covers, Dryer Timers, Dryer Door Gaskets, Combination Boots.

Hmm, does pushing the Hot button assure one of a hot date?  Or simply get one into hot water with their father.  (ducks and runs)
