I'm searching for a Wonder Kitchen and cabinets to go with it. I'm in Kentucky, but am willing to travel. Any leads would be MUCH appreciated! Thank you!!!

You've Made A Good Start

First of all, welcome to AW.org!

You've done exactly the right thing - you've found the right forum (Shopper's Square) to put this request in, and Wonder Kitchens do turn up in this forum with fair regularity.

What I would suggest is daily visits here, to see if anything has turned up. I would also use the Search feature to search this forum frequently. You might also consider upgrading to paid membership, which is only $12.00 a year for full privileges. That gives you access to the Super Searchalator search feature, which digs things up much more effectively than the Google-based search. However, paid membership is NOT necessary to be a member here; it's an upgrade, not a requirement.

There is also a wealth of information about Wonder Kitchens here, much of it due to member Paul turquoisedude, who has restored a Wonder Kitchen and a GE wall-mount refrigerator. As a teaser, a link to one of Paul's posts is below. But there's plenty more from Paul in our Archives.

As you search, bear in mind that the term "Wonder Kitchen" is not always known to sellers, so they may be listed as a "GE kitchen" or "General Electric kitchen" or "GE cabinets." Looking for anything GE as both "GE" and "General Electric" is necessary.

Best of luck, and again, welcome.

Try clicking on the Super Searchalator option at the top right of this forum's index page.  Type in your search term and you should get some threads returned that contain Wonder Kitchen discussions.

It seems to me that there was a post about one just recently, perhaps for sale.

Ralph:

The Super Searchalator is an upgrade feature; if someone chooses not to opt for a paid membership, they won't have access to it. There is basic search available to all members, but not the "narrowing down" features of the Searchalator.

One in Milwaukee Sold on Monday!

Thank you to ALL for your replies! I'm going to look into upgrading for a better search. The unit in Milwaukee sold :(. The guy said it had been active for 3 months with no interest and then BAM! Someone bought it on Mo day and I contacted him Tuesday. That's my kinda luck :)

Here's one that's up for grabs in Miami.  The refrigerator is a '57 model by the look of it, which is a good thing! Interesting that this has the 30" lower oven - I've not seen many of those.

Shame about the dishwasher having been replaced but a stand-alone GE pull-out could be a good replacement.

Interesting also that a later Westy Spacement washer was used to replace the GE Combo - I'm going to guess that this was repainted to match.

It's a shame that the owners didn't take the same approach with the dishwasher that they did with the washing machine, and choose to paint the front panel(s) to match the rest of the turquoise.  The "new" wouldn't stand out nearly as bad as it does in the current state.

I'm lovin' that pair of jalousie windows over the sink!  They're short enough to allow overhead cabinets and they're streamline enough to resemble an Airstream or similar.

G E Kitchen center - available in San Antonio

Hello,
if anyone is interested, I have one in SA, TX.
It is not complete: no dishwasher and faucet has been replaced w/ non-original. Paint is turquoise under white. It is now on a patio w/little protection from elements.
Needs a good home and TLC from someone who knows how to refurbish.

ALSO LOOKING FOR GE WONDER KITCHEN

This is an older thread, and I've been a fan of metal cabinets for decades, but currently looking to buy a GE TURQUOISE WONDER KITCHEN. I'm in Dallas, but would be interested in any leads. I was lucky enough a few years ago to find some NOS items - a Cabinette, a base cabinet and built in oven enclosure. I installed the cabinette into my 1966 vintage Airstream - super cute!
