I was on this site several months ago asking questions about a vintage washer that came with the house I had recently purchased. Due to the extreme volume of clothes washed by our household, we decided to purchase a new washer. (the house did not come with a dryer and we even had to cut a hole in the siding to ventilate our new gas model) Anyway, I now have a Maytag A406 washer in Avocado green that I need removed from my basement. It was assembled in 1969 (based on the seriel number) as far as I have learned from others on this site. It worked the last time I tried, although at this point it has been almost a year since I had it hooked up to any water or power. I really just want to get it out of my basement and into the home of someone who really cares about vintage appliances. It's not that I don't care, I just have many other things going on. But I would rather see a collector find my Maytag than a junkyard. This washer is free to the first taker. I can send pics if needed. DO NOT WORRY however. If I receive no response, the washer will remain in my basement until I find a taker. After finding this site I WILL NOT dispose of my old washer at a landfill.
