Dear Members,
I was wondering if any of you maybe able to help me, might be one for the European division..

Many years ago I recieved some information on a washing machine that is very rare, the information was supplied by the Laundry & Mangle museum here in the UK, but unfortunately when they relocated to from Kent to Cumbria in the early 90's, they failed to re-open, and to this day I am unsure what has happened to the collection. The machine was a Twin Tub and called a "Lec-matic" from 1962, I do have a pic which i will upload, but the infomation copy was sent to me on old shinny fax paper, and over the years has somewhat fadded.

I know that Electrolux first produced a twin tub styled washer in the early 50's, and wondered if the machine I am trying to trace was produced by them? especially having "Lec" in the name.

Does anyone have any information on Electrolux early washers ?

Any help would be great, and also assist with the last 15 years of curious-ness.
Cheers
Keith

hi Keith,
me too would like to know more about E'lux old times, before they bought Zanussi (1984)

I only remember in the late 70s our old dealer left E'lux appliance trade and moved to Mieles, cause these were ... "cheaper" and easier to sell than E'luxes

Here's the Swedish WikiPage about it .... i don't know Swedish, yet can understand something.

Hope our scandinavian friends will tell us more :-)

I can help...

As I am part of this history (not so old, of course)

This TT looks like a Hoover TT. As The Electrolux Museum there are two of them, including the #001. Well, at the museum is available a sample of all the Electrolux's products. It's HUGE, considering 5 continents, and more than 70 countries and more than 100 years of evolution.
They also have products from the brands they bought. (Yes, they have some vintage Frigidaires, Prosdocimos, Westinghouses, etc...

I don't update my Electrolux video collections since I left them, but I remember there was a video at the media center (www.electrolux.com) with the history of their first appliances and the evolution of the company, since the days they used to sell "vaccum cleaning service" and their first electric vaccum cleaner to the death of the brand Wascator (Which is branded as Electrolux now) There was also a round countertop dishwasher and a very rare spin dryer.

I have the video available in my computer, but it's HUGE (More than 1gb)

Hi Guys,
I have just got back from a short break away, and have found the pic of the machine i am curious to find out some more about..The copy of the machine in question is of very poor quality, as previously advised it was sent to me on "fax" paper, before fax machines took normal paper !!
Any info would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Keith
