Looking for a Maytag 808 control panel since I am in the process of bringing back a Maytag DE306 that’s been sitting for several years. Essentially converting it into an 806 dryer with auto dry timer and temperature selections to allow for a bit more options and flexibility. Will be a customized 806 dryer that (hopefully) will go with an Maytag A806 when I find one or one locally pops up for sale in my area. Not in any great rush to find one since restorations/refurbishment takes some time but would like to find an Maytag 808 dryer control panel eventually.

Incase if anyone is wondering, I am still looking for a Maytag 808 console and ballast but haven’t been actively searching since I’ve been quite busy with life but am still on the lookout for one though.

808 Panel

I’m not sure what an 808 panel should look like, but I have the top consoles to a harvest gold Maytag washer and dryer from the 70’s. We saved them when the washer developed a leak in the tub that could not be fixed. Can you post a picture of what you want?

Looks like a Maytag DE806 control panel, but has a opening for dryness and temperature selections. I may just end up putting a 806 console on the dryer I am putting together since there is a Maytag DE806 at that appliance junkyard in Glendale Arizona, along with putting a 40)/408 auto dry timer in as well with a low heat double throw switch thermostat if one does exist. Reason why I’d put a low heat thermostat in is I’ve had great results with the low heat cycling thermostat I installed on my Maytag DG306 back in 2020 since it was able to hold a more steady temperature that the 140F it had in it.

Even though this is a Maytag 306 dryer console, this is basically what I need. There’s 4 screws you can remove to remove the console.

DE808 dryer control panel needed

Hi Sean, have you just considered cutting a rectangular opening with a Dremel in your control panel then you could go ahead and build your dryer until the exact panel shows up.

I have a customer that’s going to get rid of a DE808 because it’s so tired they raise three kids with it.

Hi John, I toyed around with doing that but don’t really want to end up knackering this Maytag console since it’s original to this Maytag dryer (at least the cabinet) and just want to preserve the original console since there aren’t many of these Maytag dryer console left out there from 1966 to 1980. Not in really any sort of big rush to get it back together and running since the Maytag A806 I picked up from waterwitch needs a cosmetic restoration done since I need to fill in a few chips on the porcelain top and give the cabinet a coat or so of paint and it’ll be done.

I believe there’s a Maytag DE408 dryer in that appliance junkyard in Glendale Arizona with the auto dry timer, will snatch that up since it has the auto dry timer and had the extra terminals on the timer for low and regular temperature selections since the DE407 are single temperature timers from what I’ve read in the archives.

Hi John, do you happen to have any photos of the Maytag 808 console from the Maytag DE808 you plan on parting out or not?
