Wards Coppertone Refrigerator

This Coppertone wards frig. sold on Craigs list in L.A. for $100.00. Does anyone know who Made Wards Refrigerators ?? and what year would this be ?? are these electricity hounds ?? written on the door is engery saver !!! Love the style of the doors

Believe Wards refrigerators of that vintage would be Frigidaire built. Not sure what was energy saving about them but by todays standards they would not be very efficient.

We had that fridge

The folks got that same style fridge from wards but ours was a little older and gold. I wish we kept it. They were made for wards by frigidaire.

Wards refrigerators were either Frigidaire built,or Admiral.Hard to tell which one that is.

I thought Admiral did the double-freezer door thing?

"Energy saver" I believe turns off the door heaters (so the doors won't sweat) in the winter when it's less humid. Wouldn't a better seal have done the job?

Most definitely. If I was to hazard a guess, 1700-2000 kwhrs per year. Compared with about 700-800 kwrs for a comparable SxS today. Hell our top mount 1986 GE runs about 1400 kwhrs per year, it's only a 14.5CF model too.

I'll vote Admiral made, early 80's with the textured-steel doors being the biggest clue.

Is that about the time the textured doors came in? Our 86 GE has plain doors, but our early 90s Norge has textured doors.
