Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

She is a beauty!!! Great video and glad we got to see the wringer in operation. Thanks for posting!!! I was also amazed that the water was over the top of the agitator. Is it removable?

I'm glad everyone was pleased! It was fun to make and I tried to incorporate the aspects that I would have wanted to see. 1) Agitator not in motion in clear water first. 2) Agitator in motion to view the current it creates. 3) Agitation with towels without soap as to better view the wash action. 4) Addition of soap! "Was that enough soap Anthony?!" haha!

Gansky1- Yes this is an Apex re-badge for Montgomery Wards.

Mixfinder- I know exactly what you mean, when this washer is filled with a full load, it looses the roll-over and just drags the clothes back and forth. I would say the agitator would work better if the vane design was flipped the other way around with the larger portion at the bottom. But it does kick up a bit of a current.

I'm glad everyone enjoyed it! I'll have to make a video of my Easy Wringer next.

Wetguymd

Thanks, and yes, it can be removed. There is a screw at the top in the center of the agitator. The agitator shaft looks similar to a Whirlpool drive lug, just smaller and tapered to almost a point.

Well done, well done

Good video. The washer did all the explaining and the music helped without any speech needed. For some real fun, you could take this video and put it through a program to make it look like a silent film. The music would be perfect...

I love how aggressive the agitator is, it just grabs the towels. Can you imagine being a little kid, up on a chair feeding this machine? If you didn't let go quick, you would be dragged to the bottom of the tub. Great washer colour and the wringer rolls, look like they are brand new? I like the way the water churns above the agitator and yet, never splashes. Great video.

rpms-

Haha, this machine DOES splash a whole lot if the water isn't at or a little above the water line! Before we recorded, my camera guy and I had a practice walk through and when I plugged it in, apparently the agitator was engaged and it started splashing all over! It looked like a skit out of Laurel & Hardy... HAHA This agitator with its almost "Butterfly wing" design will grab hold of and article of clothing and flip it around a little before it lets go in order to pick on or bully a different article.. lol

Usually I cringe when someone adds music to their video. Usually because some of the music used is that heavy metal stuff boosted to speaker splitting volumes!

But the music you added, at just the right volume added a lot of value to your very nicely photographed video. It was like a time machine!

I wish more were like yours!

whirlcool-

Thank you, that was very nice of you to say. In selecting the song, I wanted to go with something that was BRIGHT and PEPPY, and had that "Watch how it's done" sound to it. My favorite part of the song is at 0:55. Overall, I have a great love and appreciation for the late 1920's and early 30's, this, and early film, was an influenced for me in my video. I'm glad everyone is enjoying it.

Very, very cool washer. The video is too cool, I expected a flapper to come walking through with her "unmentionables" for you to launder at any moment.

To use the vernacular, it's the cat's pajamas!

thanks

Great video and music!!! It reminded me of background music on the Little Rascals/Our Gang. Speaking of...I recall an episode where they gang placed little Buckwheat on the vacuum-cup agitator of an Easy wringer. He went up and down and around like a carnival ride.
