Ok folks, my warehouse is literally bursting at the seams. Instead of throwing these on Ebay, I thought I'd offer them here 1st. If no one wants these, no problem. Unfortunately, they will be going to the crusher shortly.

The first piece is a Hotpoint dryer. I'm not sure what's up with it, if it works etc. This was a trade-in. I need to get $20 to cover my costs.

The avocado Whirly dryer is what my grandmother had for about 27 years, paired first with an avocado Kenmore 70, then a white Whirly Design 2000.

How about that 806

Hi...NICE stuff ! ! Any chance you're going to move that Maytag 806 next to the copper Kenmore??

My grandmother had that same 62 Kenmore....was the only dryer I can recall that she ever had....just like the pink bunny...just keeps going :)
I have the matching Whirlool washer in white...nice washer.

Thanks for the chance to save a few GREAT machines !!!

Al :^)

My cousins had that '62 Kenmore dryer. I loved its flexibility. Fascinating on the Hotpoints you had a knob on the panel to select timed or auto dry in addition to the timer knobitself. Wonderr that the smaller selector knob actually did mechanically to the timing system.

re another freebie...LK garage door dryer

OMG I'm positively drooling over the LK dryer with woodgrain garage door! Lord knows what S&H through Creighters & Freighters would be...I spent over $400 to ship the lil' Fridgette TT (also in Coppertone) ast year and that only weighs about 80 lbs. Does the Lady still work for you?

OMG...My grandmother had a very similar Hotpoint washer and dryer set like that years back. Something tells me the control panels were like a turquoise or bluish or something close. The control panel shape and knobs, etc. were exactly like that. I have been looking for years for a washer like that. I was like 6 when it died. I can still hear it going thru the motions to this day. Does anyone know what approx. year these are or anything else about them?? Thanks..

Joel

Very nice machines all!

I'm very familiar with the washer that goes with the 62 Kenmore dryer. The controls are very reminiscent to me of a '58 Frigidaire. I believe these were model "70". The washer has 3 cycles, numbered (not alphabet) timer, you set the water temps manually, and waterfall lint filter, pregnant roto swirl agitator.

Scott, you are absolutely right abou it being a Model 70 'cuz I remember that on my cousin's deryer. And I too thought the tie between the '58 Unimatic & this panel, however mine was reverse, I thought of the Kenmore panel when I saw the 58 Unimatic for the first time in Robert's basement. The 770 series was pretty much the MOL, all American washer & dryer pair throughout Kenmore's line, even well into the DD design.

Photo 3 has two Maytag push button dryers and the older one appears next to the 1-18 in the last photo.

Here is something to think about. The cost of gasoline is slowly falling and is supposed to continue slowly downward. I was wondering if members of the club who have vans or pickup trucks might consider forming regional co-ops for transporting appliances. We could look at distances and see if we could figure out relatively short hauls with the chance to visit each other at the trade off points and either grab a bite to eat while we share photos or literature or check out the alleys behind some local dealers or hit a flea market or thrift store in the area. It would not be high speed transportation and shipments might need to wait until something needs shipping from the other end. This would not be a free service, but if drivers were compensated for gas and got to see enough appliances to keep it interesting, it might work.

Maytagluver, I'm not sure what I want to do with the 806 dryer. It came out of a little old lady's place and is close to perfect.

The coppertone dryer & the 62 dryer are now spoken for. I would like to thank everyone for the responses & emails.

For the Kitchen Aid Fans

Here is a TOL pushbutton Kitchen Aid washer. I have no idea if it works or not. I need $25 for it to cover it's room & board over the years.

"Quite a nice selection",now letsee, no,no,no,no, yes, no,no, no,yes,no,no,no, wait a minute......YESSSS!" What was Madeline Kahn's character, Coutess Von Shtupp, or do I have the wrong movie?

Madeline Kahn

Madeline Kahn played the Empress Nympho in "History of the World (Pt.1)" where she made some "really big decisions..."

Baron Rolfe von Stuppe is from "The Great Race" (played by Ross Martin), who had the reputation of being the Potsdorf's leading swordsman.

Strange way to get these two movies to intersect... :)
