I have a Waring WKM 300 Waffle machine (5 years old)and it suddenly stopped heating. The machine has low usage. The orange power light comes on, but both top and bottom griddles remain stone cold. I fooled with the thermostat setting and jared the unit in case something was sticking. I also fliped the unit over several times.

Right now it's being run ungrounded.

Does anybody have any insights into this? It was not a cheap unit and I am looking into repairing it (ha!)

I am hoping it's an interlock swich or something of that kind, but I'm afraid it may be the electronics.

Of course, I could just shop for a vintage waffle maker... any thoughts on that?

Found a Sunbeam at a yard sale-works GREAT!!!For Waring-lets see-the rotating mechanism that carries the power to the waffle baker halves, burnt out elements, bad thermostat?Don't see these waffle machines anymore-maybe they were discontinued? They were supposed to mimic the ones you see at Waffle House and such-a commercial type waffle baking machine.Somehow the rotating action was supposed to improve the quality of the waffles. And normally Waring does not make waffle bakers. This was something new. They only made blenders. That they did really well.

Well, this waffle iron is a real stinker...

I just got through looking at the Amazon reviews for this Piece of Poop. Apparently there is a thermal fuse that fails on a regular basis, a huge number of these things (hundreds) fail after only a few uses.

While the replacement part is only $1.50, the housing is not intended to come apart, and reassembly is supposed to be a bear.

Specifically what model of vintage Sunbeam do you all recommend?
