With what phone?

I have been using Android since 2009 and prefer it over iphone or others. I have the Samsung Galaxy Nexus which is stock Android running 4.2.2( no OEM launcher or enhancements installed over top). I also have an Android tablet already running 4.2.2

The current version of Android is 4.2.2 so what phone do you have? I (MAY) be able to help.

Could Be....

....Your phone manufacturer's specific upgrade for your phone.

For a while, I had a Samsung Acclaim that was one of the slowest, glitchiest pieces of crap I've ever been around. Samsung came out with an upgrade, so I duly took the phone in and had it upgraded.

It was WORSE, by a factor of about ten. And the upgrade could not be rolled back. To add insult to injury, the power-management app that had previously been making life with the phone halfway bearable was incompatible with the upgrade.

That was a work phone, and to this day, I am very proud of the fact that I managed to turn it back in before smacking it up against a concrete-block wall. I have never hated a piece of technology so much in all my life.

Depending on how adventurous you are there are lots of ROMs out there you can flash on your phone.  Some are great, some are so-so.  You need to root your phone to use any of them but that is quite easy now.  Check out www.androidforums.com and look for your phone.  I've been using a hacked ROM for about a year now on my phone, it does more than the stock ROM ever did and is very stable.

I read the Wifi problem thread.

For each system upgrade Google posts the source and binary executables on their severs so anyone can use them. In the case of many OEMS, they down load the source, compile it with the Software developers kit(SDK) and while doing so add their own enhancements to the system to try to offer added value and distinguish their phone.

This has caused problems with new system releases because the OEM then must make their old custom code compatible with the new system. Most times it works sometimes it doesn't work well. I think this is why it sometimes takes so long for updates to arrive to phones and why some phones never get an update.

In the past Moto has added their own software programs to manage contacts, pictures and other things. In the Moto update release i read last week it mentioned that in this lastest update Moto is no longer using their own software to manage some things, and instead letting the operation take place in the way Google designed it in the first place.

Is the problem with your pictures that you cannot get to them at all , or is it just different than how it worked before?

Wifi and radios

The Wifi and radio situation is hardware specific to each phone so it sounds like the problem has been caused by something Motorola has caused.
I can see them updating to new standards but they should have allowed the older standard to be supported a def screw up. If they get enough complaints perhaps they might try to fix it. On the other hand they may consider the Droid 4 to old to bother with...I hope not but this has been done in the past.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Finally!

WI-FI Is working now because modem/router was out dated. As for my music files for alarm clock it had to be transfered off my SD card to phone storage area for sounds to play. Google Maps is a joke and went back to VZ Navigator because it works with my Motorola Bluetooth.

I'm still not happy with this lame update for it reminds me of Windows Me.
Just over redundant navigation through out this new op system.....
