Help Support :

As usual, Martin was always the gracious host and another fun Wash-In joins the history books. It was so nice to see old friends and make new ones! Thank you Martin for a grand time!

While some receive mysterious messages from secret admirers...

Others were just plum tuckered out...

The day after, The Breakfast Club...

And thanks to everyone who made it...and for those who didn't, you were MISSED!

Special mention: Hans, that Orange Crush Pound Cake was divine! Ron: Those coconut and chocolate pies were delicious!

A who's who at the wash-in!

And literally I mean who is who???

Can someone please post a group photo and identity who is who in that photo?

I know John L & Smitty, Pete, Steve (Toggleswitch) and of course Martin, but who are the others?

Thanks!
Kevin

We had a GREAT TIME!

Its always well worth the drive to get to meet new friends,We got back to NC about 10.30, we stopped in Maryland to see Johns warehouse..appliance overload!!!.We are definitely going to go back to New Jersey again, Martin made us feel right at home.It could not have been better, It was also great to see some guys I had not seen since Omaha in 2005.

Guys,
I'd like to say thank you for letting me have the chance to attend my first Wash-In.

It gave me the chance to actually meet some of the people from this site. You all are an amazing group. Of course, Martin was a phenomenal host. Getting the chance to see everyone using the machines and admire some of the treasures that Martin has, plus nibble a bit on some of the wonderful food that was offered was great. And yes, the Orange Crush Cake has gone into the recipe file for future use.

Sadly as I told Martin, I started feeling a bit under the weather again and thought it best to head back to Baltimore before I ended up regretting making the trip.

I look forward to being able to attend future events if possible, and of course, see everyone here on the site.

Take it easy until next time-

Have a Great Day!

I need a Fix

I'm glad everyone had a great time, I've decided I need another wash-in to go to... My 1st was John's back in 10/10, what a time. Unfortunately money is very tight right now and traveling very far is not really in my future at the very moment. So if anyone in the KY/OH/VA/WV/TN area wants to get one together, let me know!

AWESOME WEEKEND, AS ALWAYS MARTIN

I can't say enough about how great a person Martin
is, as well as a great host. He was my first friend
from A.W., and his Wash-In a year ago was my first.

Thanks to his wash-ins I have now met some other
Cool New Friends. What a Neat group of guys
and a fantastic experience. I truly am glad to
be a part of A.W. and to know you all.

Thank You!!

Best Washes Always,

Louis

Thank you Martin!!

I had a great time at the wash-in! Thank you for being such a great host! It was wonderful to finally put some faces to names!

Martins Wash-In

Many Many Thanks to Martin and to everyone else that came as well, it was very fun and I feel like we didn't do a thing, I never even got my tool box out of the van, Even Smitty had a great time largely due to Louis and Hans who are great Car Nuts as well, thanks for keeping Smitty from getting bored.

Next time I come up Martin maybe we can tear something apart, Thanks John L.

That Mixmaster!!!

Wow, dynaflow, did that gorgeous Sunbeam come home with you? She's a beauty! Almost looks like it was never used. When I went out to pick up my 1956 Hotpoint range from a member here I stopped at an antique mall on the way home and came home with a Sunbeam Mixmaster Model 3. But it had the white bowls, not the jadite. Wish I could have gone to this meet up.

Thank you, Martin!

This weekend I:

-used a twin tub for the first time
-used a wringer for the first time
-learned the air chillers in my apartment will likely provide plenty of cooling but precious little dehumidification and the condensate tray would benefit from descaling by way of boiling vinegar poured down its drain.
-collected a whole bunch of facts and figures I'll need some point to convince the board to allow use of Euro-sized FL's in our units.
-learned that I did NOT hallucinate (as I was told years ago) Sears window a/c units that had a high dehumidification/low cooling function.
-learned that I was right for telling my mother she should have paid the $$$$$ for the new racks and KEPT the KitchenAid Imperial from the late 70's
-learned that my brief visit to a town just off 95 in southern Georgia probably was just how I remembered it.

And that's just off the top of my head!

Add to that great food (chocolate pie, coconut custard pie, and orange soda cake for starters), great guys, and a shit load of fun!

Thanks to all for a wonderful time!

Jim
