The other day I was thinking of what I am to do with all my vintage appliances(mainly dryers, a couple washers, a refrigerator and a dishwasher). I currently don't have any room at the house. Well I thought why not close off the end of the carport and create a room to display them all. The easy part was thinking of the idea. The hard part was to convince my partner of the idea. Well I just mentioned it to him today and he agreed to it. WOO HOO!!! Now it probably won't be for a while, but at least I got him on the same page. Now if i could only get him talked into letting me put a slide from the roof into the pool. LOL

Hey Justin, that will be pretty neat! Are you going to use the entire carport or just part of it? From what I remember you can almost get 2 vehicles under there, right?

By the way, are you going to do any of the work or are you doing to make Steve do all of it?? LOL

Only going to use part of the carport. Still want to be able to park one car underneath it. I will probably do the majority of the work. Steve isn't able to do much more now that his back is shot. I doubt even after the surgery that he will be able to do construction anymore.

Space for washers

My husband has been awesomely supportive of my growing collection. That's why we fell in love with the house we're in now that had a swimming pool and pool house. We removed the pool (temps here on the California North Coast range from 40 degrees to 70 degrees all year -- not condusive to swimming pools!) but the pool house is now the washer house. I took this photo from the shallow end of where the pool once was. Too bad the pool house isn't wider, could accommodate machines on BOTH sides of the building. But am happy with the space, nevertheless. Good luck with the carport conversion! (I'm now thinking about converting one of the two garage stalls in our garage to make room for more machines...have not discussed this with my better half yet..!)

I love that everyone on this list seems to have understanding spouse/hubands/partners, etc. I can just see my future single's ad: Wanted: Kind, good hearted, healthy, attractive man with mechanical skills and a love of vintage appliances. Bonus points if you're familiar with Kelvinator, Philco, and Apex.

I have a single car garage that will never see a car as long as I'm living and breathing! I am in the process of re-doing the Laundry Studio as I write this.

I had heating and cooling put in in Dec. and last month had a breaker panel installed.

Had the whole house re-piped and the old gas tank hot water heater removed. Replaced the hot water heater with a tankless outdoor Noritz gas water heater. So far, I'm loving it.
