washday laundry soap

Hi all,
I was wondering if you've ever heard of a laundry soap called "Washday". If you've ever purchased a Rainsoft water softener (or any brand of water treatment system for that matter), you may receive a promotional soap package which includes this laundry soap. I am currently using the powdered version. It does contain coconut and optical brighteners. It smells like clean linen.
For those who've used this product, what are your thoughts?

Wish I could help, but Ive never heard of this

Their Webpage doesn't list ingredients, just says ionic and non ionic surfactants? Which ordinary laundry detergent's usually use anyway.
So I'm only guessing the ionic portion could be soap, and the non ionic portion is some naturally derived detergent from coconut oil. The non ionic is best to deal with hard water, whereas the ionic by itself could be de activated by calcium/ magnesium in water.
Can't tell if their using a water softener in the mix or not

I have used this laundry soap with thmy Rainsoft water softener for the whole house and it has a lively smell to it, especially when it hits the water.

He're is the link from rainsoft. This will feature all the soap products you will receive. The one I will focus on, is the wash day laundry soap. When I ran my front load washer with a tablespoon of this soap, there was a nice suds festival going on. This was with the machine empty. The soap is low sudsing when full of clothes in the machine which is what I like. I like how the soap is made. There is no artificial sudsing, just natural sudsing going on when mixed well so that the soap tackles dirt and stains. You can also get the soap in liquid. I'd go for the powder if possible. I have soft water and have used it in my GE filter-flo. That's what the smell of this soap reminds me of.

Here is the soap package you will receive with your water softener. The first soap that is listed is the laundry soap which is also available in powder while supplies last. It shows their liquid version. I like the powder better because it's easier to use next to pods (which is under natural visions).

Acdo

Acdo was an old 1960s mainly soap based wash powder, my mum used to swear by it nothing no one could change her mind to use any thing else. It was always Acdo, my fondest memory is every Monday morning before I went off to school if she accidentally overdosed by pouring the powder into the active water, into the single tub servis cadet washer. The rota was on the base of the washer, is she overdosed the powder before loading the the 1st load I would hear her turn the air blue with the S word constantly repeated. The lather would over flow into the kitchen, she had to kill the lather with a cap full of fabric softener, empty the washer clear the mess and start again. At 6 year old the S word is not a word your not meant to learn from your mum.

Todays so called biological liquids

Today's biological washing liquids do not work I am sorry in my opinion they don't, I can follow stain removal to the letter by pouring and rubbing a little into the stain. For example a tomato based stain, gently rub the liquid well into the fabric. then put the item in the washer as usual with the rest of the planned load, and put the required amount in the dispensing cup and start the machine and hope for the best. I use Persil Bio and comfort fabric conditioner in the final rinse. So why the heck do I still get an feint orange ring left on say my best white polo shirt, this just irks the hell out of me and I have to re wash the shirt or wait until I have a load of white T shirts to wash. oh 40 degrees wash for a run of 1 hour 45 on a near full load with enough room to free rinse

Stain Removal

We all get stains from time to time; you might want to check out the America's Test Kitchen video on YouTube where they check out stain removers.

Tops was indeed the powdered Oxy Clean. However, as you'll see in the video, for it to do its best work it needs to be concentrated in a bucket, etc., and the object soaked for several hours. They found that all the stain removers didn't work well being treated and then right into the wash.
