Interesting, so do they expect you to put the legos in a bag? I'd assume so, some of those small pieces are bound to fall through into the sump.
 
This cycle has been around since before the introduction of the W1 Series. It came as part of additional cycle packages one could purchase to install on the machine.

Bosch had a Lego Edition dishwasher back in 2006. The ToyBox was simply a cutlery basket.

Not sure why a regular or short cycle won't work just as well for soft toys, etc. but building blocks?   When my son was young, I used a tight-mesh laundry bag and put them in the dishwasher, flipping the bag over mid-way through the cycle.   Spread on a towel to dry.  

 

I use the short cycle on the SQ f/l for dog toys, etc. now and then.  He's always perplexed when they return, smelling absolutely foul (to him) but is quickly won over by the irresistible joy of playtime.
