HI, I have a direct drive Kenmore washer model number 1108162110, Yesterday it just stopped working in the middle of the rinse cycle. The machine has no power it will not even fill with water. It is not the electrical outlet as the dryer runs from the same outlet. I took the panel off and all wires are connected. Any suggestions on what to check. I would really like to get this washer functioning again.
Thanks

David

The washer does nothing at all no fill, no agitation or spin. Had to lay hose on floor to drain the water out. Luckily, I have a back washer and was able to finish the laundry.

The washer and dryer (gas, presumably) are on the same circuit and same physical wall outlet?  Have you swapped the plugs to confirm by chance that part of the outlet hasn't gone bad?

Next is check the other end of the washer's cord where it connects internally to the machine to confirm power is present.

Beyond that, the timer would be the most likely culprit, on its internal push/pull mechanism/contacts.

I think it is the timer; my son-in-law is going to look at it when he has time. However, since I had to remove the rear panel, it also looks like gear case has been leaking there are oil splashes on the cabinet.
Thanks for the advice.
David
