when i start my washing machine, 60% of the time it will leak water on the ground.

the two water supply hoses that attach to the rear of the machine are dry, so i know that the leak does not stem from these hoses.

i often just skip to the spin cycle and pour water from a bucket in the tub. no leak here.

any fix ideas? given that the machine is also 30 years old, should i consider replacing it?

i have attached two photos to this post.

thanks

in order to help you....

were going to need A LOT more information from you.....

when and where exactly is this water showing up....

what cycle, water level?...what part of the cycle?....what are you washing?

does it leak only when your away from the machine, or when someone else uses it?

does it spin around and toss things at you?....is it possessed?...have you considered a Ouija board?

open the unit up, and inspect throughout the cycle of when this potential leak is happening and from what area...

In order to diagnose the leak, we will need make, model, and photos of the machine in order to figure out where it’s leaking from. It’s like calling repair personnel and saying “my washing machine is leaking” and they ask “what make and model is your washer?” and you reply “I dunno, it’s a washing machine” and that will make it more difficult from them to fix your machine and for you as well. If you called and said “my washing machine is leaking” and they asked “what make and model is your washer?” and you replied with “it’s a Whirlpool top loading washer from 2010” it would give them more of an idea since they know what make and model it is and could diagnose the issue and get it resolved.

The machine in question is a Canadian built GE filter flo.

The best way to determine where the leak is coming from is to move the machine from the wall and take the back panel off. Now you should be able to run the machine and get a better idea of where the water is coming from. Let us know what you find and show a picture of it leaking if possible and we can guide you further.
