Hai I've heard something awsome today. I was listing to the radio when I heard some exotic dutch song about.... WASHERS. I don't know if anyone would like to find it
It's from trafassi 'wasmasjien'. Are there other songs about washers as well?

Mrs Bartolozzi

Kate Bush, on her latest album Aerial which was released just before Christmas in the UK, has a song called Mrs Bartolozzi where the chorus just repeats "washing machine"... and the lyrics are about getting a new washing machine! Quite ironic that the album is called "Aerial" too... similar to the Ariel washing powder :-).

tolivac, you can't. I just posted the link for more info. I tried to find a copy of the song online for free & I couldn't find one. The local classic country station here (wwsm 1510) has the song in it's rotation, that's how I heard it.

Top Tunes

Great songs i am sure but i have never heard them myself.
do these songs count?????

Vic Reeves and the Wonder Stuff DIZZY
the video to this song had a massive wall made out of washing machines and tumble dryers.
scrap ones, if you look closely you can see quite a few purple and early brown hotpoints.

The Pointer Sisters AUTOMATIC
if you listen to the words you could associate this song with washers, she says about getting her motor running and her circuitry, not to mention being like a robot at your every whim.
Funnily too the synthetic pop noises in this song before the last verse are what i think a talking Servis Quartz would sound like talking its own language! ironically this song was also recorded in 1983 so maybe it was about a Quartz or am i cracking up?
and who could forget Pete Burns.......

"yOu SpIn Me RigHT RoUNd Baby RIGHt Round LiKE a ReCoRd PLayer RigHT ROund"

lol

hey i just noticed your here same time as me. have been looking at your profile its a shame nyo have not got any hotpoints yourself.
they my fave machine too and was gutted that they are now indeshite made.

i remeber seeing the Hopoint Recommends Ariel Advert and was gutted they had switched from persil

Hi Nick - yeah havent any room for vintage Hotpoints at the moment but they are my next target. It's a shame that Hotpoint have switched from Persil to Ariel, although it's only "coincidental" that it happened around the same time that Indesit took over, and Indesit have recommended Ariel for years. Shame because Persil is just as good as Ariel but no manufacturers back it like they used to especially in the 80s.

Feel free to drop an email anytime you want, Nick!
