This is an advertisement for a Waste King portable dishwasher - with a really interesting wash arm setup.  Has anyone actually seen (or owned) one of these dishwashers?  It looks like a pretty cool water distribution system; was it?  And was it offered on any built-in models?  The ad (ebay) says it's from 1960.

This was a wild machine that was introduced at the height of the portable dishwasher craze. The interior was orange Plastisol and the lid was black with a hole for the timer knob in the left front corner, I believe, just behind the handle. As for builtins, I remember some models with stainless steel wash arms under each rack, but the were close to full width. I have never seen an ad nor a picture for this one.

This is what a vaguely remembered when I was about age 5-6 (1959-1960) when we were in the store purchasing the original WK built-in. All I remember was it being top loading (was a display model with plastic viewing lid) the orange interior amd the funny black wash arm. Of we took the WK with us when we moved into thenew house September 1961. The dishwasher that was in the new house was sent back to the old house and installed there in the old house. That one was an O'Keef & Merrit (Tappan) Dual Drench dishwasher.

The Z arm wash arm

The built-in Thermidor dishwasher used in arm similar to this, but we’re far better dishwashers I’m sure than a waste king.,

These Waste King dishwashers were either terrible for longevity, or they didn’t make many of them, but there should be one out there on the west coast hiding in a closet.
