WOW! Welcome. That second machine with the side opening lid like a Kenmore, is it really blue? I like the arrangement of the timer dial and the two smaller selector knobs on that one.
Was the side opening lid a standard design in older machines? Did it have a lint filter? Now we need you to show us the Portuguese words for fill, water level, wash, drain, spin, rinse, normal, delicate, speed, cycle, lint filter, cooldown (for wash and wear or permanent-pressed fabrics) and hot, warm and cold.

Do you have a washer from the 1960s, 70s, 80s or 90s or more advertising pictures? Are new washers in Brazil mostly front load tumbler washers? Are many brands built in Brazil?

We all hope that you enjoy looking at and discussing washing machines and that you will tell us much more about the washers from your country.

Welcome to the club Eduardo! Those Brastemp machines are very nice...especially the blue one! Reminds me of an RCA but in a 24" machine...perhaps you could fill us in on these!

I'm curious as to how popular FL's are in Brazil as well!

Hi Tom, I am happy to share my culture, as well as vocês make with me. On the second washer it is really blue, however the white color exists (in the case, mine it is a model of this in the white color). Timer is very simple, only has a program, laudering of 14 minutes, centrifugation with 7 spurts of water, rinse and long centrifugalization, the other buttons are of level of water and the temperature of water. It has a filter that she is in the right side for where agua constantly is recirculated. In Brazil the models are common top loads, also whirlpool have a project developed for us of a digital compact washer. 1ª photo mentions the model to it most common in Brazil, many houses of the country already had had one of these, however in a simpler model, without entrance for hot water and with one it only programs. I wait to have counted on sufficiently on the washer in question! :) Here a photo of the interior of the washer goes.J

PS: this was an edition very limited with the agitator in the braca color, the normal one is that the same he is black.

Wow, that machine is awesome! White Surgilator but with a jet-black tub and tub ring; now there's something you don't see everyday!!

What Brastemp machine is this interior from? The 1982 version?
 
Hi Austin, the washers Front Loads are not very common, the population prefers top loads therefore feels more the will to add or to remove the clothes in the hour that to want, however are cheaper, what it helps in the hour of the purchase.

3 models manufactured in Brazil only exist: Bosch, Continental (same Bosch) and Electrolux.

Hi to westytoploader, this model is yes of 1982, it really is sufficiently rare. This machine is not mine placed this photo therefore was the one that I found more easy. I have photos of other models of washer, go to add the electronics of 1988, sufficiently similar one to a washer of whirlpool, which I do not remember the model, however its color is green and is always in picture the day of the site.

Kleenmaid was Brazilian Whirlpool

Hi Guys,

The first Kleenmaid machines in AU were Brazilian Made BD Whirlpools.

They came with the black interior, black agitator with a silver cap, and a Magic Mix brush type filter.

They were 5 temp combos, two speeds, and and 3 cycles from memory.

These were available in AU from about 86 - 90. They werent however very reliable, but parts were very cheap due to the history of Whirlpool in AU. In 1990 Kleenmaid discontinued the Brazillian Whirlpools, and started rebadging Speed Queens.
 
Eduardo, Thank you for the information and more pictures. Of the 3 brands of front load washers, do they fill with cold water and then heat the water for washing or do they have both hot and cold water inlet valves? What are clothes dryers like there? Do many people with an automatic washer have a clothes dryer? Do the clothes dryers usually use electricity for heat? Are dryers that use gas for the heat available?

Hi Tom, the three manufactured models of front loads has proper heating for resistance during the gravy. We have three models of electric driers: Brastemp, Bosch and Electrolux, and none the gas. Here in Brazil we have a very hot climate, then, we do not need driers and also reason they spend much energy, what she costs very expensive in Brazil, equally to the dishwashers.

Thanks for posting these fascinating machines!! The control panel of the first Brastemp machine closely resembles that of Ross's (westyslantfront) 1959 Kenmore, with the boxy console, style of knobs, etc., but again in a 24" version!! Approximately what year would this one be from?
