I thought I would share this product - I ordered some and it does work like the video shows.
The site has many videos demonstrating repairs on Pot Metal.

It works with a standard propane torch.

The piece on my Frigidaire Fridge that I wanted to repair has too many ridges and contours and hairline fissures to be saved - but this product will work great on other pieces.

Hey, thanks for the link/info.

It's really a solder, not a weld, but looks promising.

On the other hand, some of us who work with metal for a living may have the opinion that the only fitting place for pot metal is in the scrap bin :-).

Still, for cast vintage pieces it's worth being able to repair the stuff.

Alumiweld

I saw something at the county fair a few years ago, I bought a pack for $20 or so.

I think it was this http://www.alumiweld.com/
" Product: ALUMIWELD is a welding rod that is able to weld any aluminum metal by using a PROPANE TORCH !

Also will weld Zinc based metals, (Pot Metal), Mag-Alloy and Galvanized Steel all with a propane torch.

AlumiWeld is capable of welding copper and brass to aluminum."

I saw it in the Harbor Freight flyer this week for $12.99 lot 44810.
