Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I'm shocked

just the other day I decided to sit down and calculate how much money I have tied up in my vacuum cleaners now keep in mind I have a little over 300 and that's not counting my polishers, mixers, or my irons and also my many small kitchen appliances that I buy. Just in my vacuums alone right at 40,000.00. Now i'm kinda scarce to figure the rest what I have tied into them. Now I don't have any regrets at all but was just amazed at the amount of money tied up.

I'm here too

While I am ANGERED over what has happened on the Vacuumland forum (the fact that it was closed, not the "reason" why) I want to say thank you to all the automaticwasher.org people for welcoming us homeless vagrants for the time being.... thanks :o)

What?

I used to post on the vacuumland site occasionally. I went there to check it out and was shocked to find it closed. I feel a little "out of the loop" on what happened. If someone would care to share with me the problem, you can e-mail me privately. I also do appreciate the welcome we have gotten here. You are great folks. Tim

Anyone have any idea...

...when the Discuss-O-Vac forum will re-open? I don't post that often, but I always looked forward to my daily dose of vacuum postings.

Vacuumland Reopening

The Vacuumland site has been closed due to a serious threat posed to the site. We are currently working on some changes to the forums and hope to have them open by this weekend. Thanks for your patience. A full explanation of what happened will be posted on the site when the forums reopen.

Hi everyone here at AW.org and our Vacuumland friends. Unfortunately Fred is not kidding, that threat was very serious, not to mention illegal. I thank goodness nothing like that has happened to us here at aw.org, but it is something that always has me a bit worried in the back of my mind that it could.

Thank you Fred for being such a great webmaster of Vacuumland, you did the right thing by closing down the forums for a cooling off period, I know I would have done the exact same thing here if we ever had a problem like that. I think we all owe Fred quite a bit of gratitude for his foresight and quick thinking.

Perfect timing

If it does open today - it just happens to be my birthday! Fingers crossed we do get the forums back.

Ironically, if the Ebay Gods smile on me, I should own a vintage washer for the first time in years, by the end of the day - the lack of owning one always put me off posting here, if you know what I mean...

Vacuumland Forums Will Reopen Tonight

Thanks to Robert for helping with some code changes, look for the forums to reopen tonight. Here's hoping that everyone behaves themselves. Let's get that vac talk going again.

Thank you Jeff & Vacuumbuy95,

I had a nice peaceful day, thanks! I had treated myself to three Hoovers just before my birthday, but spotted something on Ebay which I'm going to pay through the nose for when I collect it, but have wanted for a long time...

I haven't owned a vintage washer since 2002, and haven't had a Hoover washer since a mid-70s wringer washer was my everyday machine in the mid 90s. My main memories of it are it not coping with the metal rivet-type buttons on jeans, shirts with missing buttons which had been smashed off, and the fact it leaked the first time I filled it, and I had to bail it out with a saucepan!

This is a late 60s/early 70s 3314L Hoovermatic Deluxe with the automatic rinse - the Hoovermatic is the only twinnie out of the Big 3 (Hotpoint, Hoover, Servis) that I've never owned, so I can't wait to play with it!
