Hi Jamie, have you been playing Dr. Frankenstien with your Maytag mister? Is that just the Whirlpool Fabric Softener dispenser mounted on a Maytag Load Sensor Agitator or is that a Whirlpool agitator that you ingeniously mounted into a Maytag????

It's gotta be a Maytag agitator because the spiral is the wrong way to be a Whirlpool.

It is a Maytag corkscrew agitator with a Whirlpool FS dispenser mounted on top, it fits perfectly!! Even snaps into place!! And, no I can't close the lid...lol!

I agree with Jason, that's the Maytag Spiral from the later LAT models.....would be interested to know what the wash action is like, considering the LAT's had the Dependable Drive transmission and a much shorter arc.

The lid is missing. And I agree with Jason L. about the direction. The augers on both machines are made to pull down in the spin direction. Maytags spin counter-clockwise, and Whirlpools spin clockwise. I like your washer though, way to mix old with new. I guess you short circuited the lid switch.

The action probably isn't great because those old 'Tags don't have the best turnover. The water level was set on low so the clothes weren't high enough to be affected by the spiral.

The action looks pretty strong from the pictures...much stronger than you originally think. Jamie sent me a small video of the LoadSensor agitator getting down with a HUGE load of sheets, and even though it has a narrow base, the whole load is moving back & forth with each stroke.

The turnover is decent as well considering that it is fully loaded...reminds me of the BD Dual-Action agitator.

Actually...turnover is quite good on a PowerFin-equipped Maytag when properly loaded. Someone mentioned that the Gyratator, however, was meant for the large, wide tubs of the wringers, and didn't perform as well in the narrow tubs of the automatics. But even then, when I watched the Highlander ("Pinkie") at the Convention, the action wasn't that bad!!

I guess it depends on what machine(s) the user is accustomed to watching...
