Always had a place in my heart for Westinghouse Roaster ovens, in that my Aunt used to bake scrumptious fresh berry pies, cakes and roasts for Sunday dinner; years ago at their camp on the St. Lawrence River, the only other cooking appliance was a three burner kerosene stove. Churches and veteran organizations have long used them for their fund raising meals; these units are llllllong-lived, as are their special covered pyrex dishes.I have a cabinet and NOS clock for the cabinet to control cook times. I have a genuine unit by westinghouse to place on top and broil; is this as rare as I think? I've never seen another one joey3950

These roasters turn up every once in a while.  I had one that belonged to my mom but I never used it so I let it go.

Your link took me to Yahoo's home page.

The church I belong to has 2 Westinghouse roasters from the 50's (one has glass insert in lid) and 1 of the newer Hamilton Beach versions. They don't have the cabinets or broiler units.

My sister's mother-in-law has one she got in the late 40's with the cabinet including clock unit. Not sure if she has the broiler or glass pans; will have to ask.

I looked at a Proctor-Silex roaster in Wasserstrom the other day. It's the same as the HB. Was $49; missed them in the fall when Kohl's had them on sale. Will probably get one in the near future as kitchen won't be done when I move back into my house.

They are not rare, but not as commonplace as when they were sold by several manufacturere from the 30s through the 50s, maybe. WH kept selling them until selling their small electrics div. to Scovill. Genuine WH roaster ovens are real prizes. There are several searchable threads about them. Have fun with yours.
