My dad picked this up somewhere on Craigslist for his basement and I'm curious if someone might be able to tell the age of it. I found a vintage ad for the Deluxe 15 from 1978 so I know it's from the 70s.

The fan motor bearings appear to be going as it's a bit shaky and the shaft has a bit of play in it, but other then that it runs great after giving the condenser coil a good cleaning. The compressor is made by Danfoss and it runs QUIET. The fan not as much. I have a 1983 White-Westinghouse pretty much identical but with a different front cover and in the faux woodgrain that was so popular during that time. The compressor on that isn't nearly as quiet (albeit also being a Danfoss) and the fan is a bit noisier. It also uses R500 instead of R12 like this one does.

compressor Mfg.

cool find :)I had wondered if Westinghouse made their own compressors or not-I have several westy A/Cs 3 small(~5-6000 btu)1973,84,87, a ~1975 8500 and a decently big 12,000 btu from 1978.The small '84 and 87 have Japanese rotary compressors, but the others are all recips AFAIK.The '84 6000 and '75 8500 are in DD use right now,but I might mount up the '78 12000:it's compressor is very quiet and vibration free, mostly just the condenser fan is heard-it's a paddle bladed"mixed flow"style, creates kind of a hum/moan sound.Fan is beside the condenser on this style westy.
