Reminds me

Of all the 70s nightmares i saw as a kid when this stuff was new, I hated that style then, and i hate it now, Kitchen cabinets are supposed to be steel with lots of chrome trim, preferably pink, with linoleum tops.and dishwashers are supposed to say Kitchen Aid by Hobart!

I must fall into the category of having no taste.
This isn't the first time I've liked something that most have considered hideous, and I'm sure it won't be the last.
I do see the point about the sink and dishwasher being inconveniently situated. And, my personal preference is to have a window over the sink. So, I'm not 100% in love with the layout, but I'm pretty sure I could live with most of it.
I grew up surrounded by Colonial/Early American decor, and always appreciated it. It's still my style to this day. And maybe it was more popular here in the New England area. As someone else mentioned though, I don't get a really strong strong sense of that style here. Yes, there are elements, but this is more high-end, designer looking than the stuff I grew up with.
In a previous conversation on this subject, I think a couple of members posted old pictures of kitchens that they thought were absolute nightmares.
For me, it was like; "Yes! I'll take it!"
Oh well. As Popeye said, "I am what I am".

Oh. And Hans;
I could definitely live with the kitchen that you describe just as easily!
I think I need more than one house!
