More info on the similar dryer
The machine here has the added "Heavy Duty" chrome tag; plus the added buzzer.
These are simple robust machines.
The drum uses the "trailer hitch ball" type pivot that rides in a delrin pocket. This is #5303281153 bearing kit or equalivalent
The front of the drum rides on felts; I used #5303937139
The belt is common too; 5303281154 or i.
The motor is quite common new and used. Mine has never failed and it went under salt water in Katrina, I washed in in the bathtub and relubed it.
The cycling thermostat on mine is around 145 to 155 F and common too.
The coil on mine I replaced about 2 years ago, it burned out either by old age; or the salt water bath it saw. the odd thing is the oil broke EXACTLY where the repair kit had an extra standoff to add as a retrofit. The coil kit I used was Q142885 off of ebay and was only 10 bucks. The coil as-is is for 255 Volts, one cuts it down for 240, or more for 208 volts.
As is the stock machine is set up for 240 volts, when used on 208Y it has a tad less heat. The coil kits set up of cutting the coil for 208 volts is because my dryer had a variant used in laundromats too.
The only thing that Katrina ruined was the front filter/vent, the screen rusted out. I replaced this and they are quite common.
Here this is my main dryer.
There are knockouts on the left and right panels if one wants to have the 4" exhaust exit from the sides.
The dryer here has an autodry setting which works well and I use about always. Today I used the low setting to dry a comforter. This just applies 120 volts to the heater coil.
An older dryer like this is also can be wired for 120 volts too, one just connects the wires to the internal lugs differntly. Insteady of havings 5400 watts like 240 volts, one has only about 1350 watts.
