I posted a fb ad about these in shopper Square. I picked them up yesterday. The seller met me part way thankfully. It was a long drive. He was gonna put them out on the curb!! I'm really glad I rescued them. These are one of the "holy grail" machines IMO. They clearly have not been used in a long, long time. Missing the correct dryer knob and I think some of the suspension parts for the washer. Nothing irreplaceable. The washer boot is in great shape. The dryer boot is deteriorating and it appears the rotodex melted. I'm hoping I can reproduce the dryer knob and rotodex by casting new parts using the ones from the washer. Not sure what to do about the dryer boot. Anybody know the exact year and model?

What do you guys think?

Congrats!

I have an old slant front washer that I believe is mechanically sound but no door boot or latch. It’s in rough shape so, that being said, it may have parts useful to you. Let me know if you’re interested because I’m happy to break it down or you can take the whole machine. I’m in the portland area.

Ahh so it IS a 58' model.

Yeah. Just what I need another project.. Im still installing my kitchen! It would be a crying shame to let these hit the dump though. They are safe and dry in my building until i get to them. The washer will be much easier to restore than the dryer so I will start there. Should just be a disassemble, clean, seals, relubricate job. The dryer however... will require some enginuity.

I appreciate the offer on your parts machine in portland!! I will let you know if I end up needing anything. I won't know until I tear it down.
