You haven't fooled me yet Dan - we all know you've got the bug.

I've only seen a few of these terrace ranges around Iowa - saw one a GE in turquoise behind Menards a few years back.........

Actually, this is surely a naive question, but can one easily take appliances across the border? That seems like something that could be a huge hassle.

In any event, I know a guy in Seattle with one of theses, and I'm sure he'll remodel one of these days.

During the summer in the 70's, we would stay at a house on Canandaigua Lake in upstate NY. The kitchen had one of these, but, I seem to remember there were 2 large elements up front.
Also, there was an early 60's GE Mobile Maid and Frost Guard bottom freezer with the aluminum snowflake panelled freezer drawer front. The kitchen was cool for a seasonal place.

The Westy seemed to work well enough while cooking for the crowd that was around. It reminds me of a Frigidaire 'Compact 30' drop-in with the clock in the corner.

Great Grandmother

My great-grandparents had this exact range in the last house they built in the late sixties. As far as I know the range is still in service. Have not been to that house since their passing in the early nineties. House is occupied by distant relatives now.

My first apartment in CA had this range in white without the timer clock console. Fond memories with that one too. Attempted to get to the heart of many a man by inviting boyfriends over for a dinner date!!

TE HE HE HE.
There are two ways to a man's heart; and one of them is definitely by way of the mouth

Neat looking range. Did the terracing prevent larger pots and pand from sitting well/easily in the front/lower portion?

Yes you can take it back and shouldn't be any hassle, it's a used item, the value isn't much and it's made in N.America so there aren't any duties either direction. The only hassle might be a lineup at the border these days so time it. Probably don't want to go get it on a busy weekend but I'll bet if you went and picked it up in the early evening there wouldn't be much of a lineup crossing back.
