Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I have baby pics of me in front of Mom & Dad's identical set.
Thanks for that, brought back fond memories. Remember, you can be SURE if it's Westinghouse!

Ok....

Westinghouse, GE, and Crosley. Did any other appliance companies offer tv sets, either their own or re-badges?

I don't mean Sears Silvertone or Wards's Airline, though.

Nice catch.

Admiral and Philco both come to mind; both had pretty complete TV and radio lineups in the '50s and '60s. Many years ago a good friend of mine picked up a cosmetically nice Philco Predicta TV. Oh my, I was in love! Didn't work though, and after awhile I went to visit him (he lived abut 400 miles from me) and discovered the guest room had been redecorated (he's an interior designer by profession), and NO PREDICTA! When I asked about it, hoping it was away being fixed, he said he couldn't find anyone to fix it, so had given it away but he figured I was too far to be interested. I was just crushed; I'm not much of a TV watcher anyway, and the Predicta was so beautiful who cared if it worked?

When I saw the title of this thread

. . . I thought I'd see a pic of one of those 70-ish "instant on" Westy TV's. Very modern looking with black glass over the screen. I didn't know Westy made TV's as old as the one you found. Nice one!

Predictas are problem prone. The circuitry in that tiny box overheats and fries to death. More trouble than they are worth.
