Want to see something walk...get a Maytag!!!!On a cement floor they are fine, but not a wood floor....Old Hotpoints were bad too..

I've never seen either of my mother's Maytags walk.  Now her GE FF, that thing would walk out into the kitchen for a bite to eat!

Differences?

Were there any differences in the build of that Westinghouse and ones of the late 70's?
The tub guard looks identical to one that holds the filter tray in a blue ramp model from the late 70's

I noticed they are getting ready to pour powdered detergent or bleach in the bleach dispenser.

Or I've never seen white LCB before.

I have not seen any of the Maytag models walk over the years. They shut down pretty quickly if out of balance. A GE with the old cable suspension sure will!

I guess Whirlpool just didn't think anyone would ever wash bowling balls in them.

I saw no real difference in the ones made in the eighties until the end of the run in the 90's. Then I saw some that had the franklin type design, but looked like from the outside like the older ones. Was also interesting to me that in the very beginning in the 60's, they had a full front that could be removed for service. That changed fairly quickly to the rear access panel. Never understood why they did that. It would have been MUCH easier to service from the front.
