I am a fairly new member to AW (about 1 1/2 years) and I have learned so much about vintage washers, appliances, etc. And I have had a ball. Westinghouse which was not a big name where I am from (Frigidaire was it!!! And later GE), but Westinghouse is fast becoming one of my favorite vintage appliance manufacturers. I've been going on line and watching anything I can pull up about old Westinghouse appliances, especially the laundromat. I was watching an old Westinghouse t.v. commercial featuring the cast of I Love Lucy. It starts with Fred pushing in an old fridge and well a number of you have proabably seen it and remember it. Also Lucy stands by a carrosel of all sorts of small appliances. My eyes rolled back in my head and I thought I was going to have a seizure or faint or something. Wow. What a great time period that was. But wait. In another scene Ricky and Lucy are pushing....is it not...the ill-fated Launderall from one of my favorite episodes...hoping for a good trade-in allowance?! Did anyone else see that and notice that?

well welcome new member.. sort of sad that the 50s are gone but time moves on cant stop father time.. i love frigidaire but usually they dont like me to much ha ha but seem to be having good luck with westinghouse, well so far.. i do remember lucy peeking out of a spacemate

'Fraid not. the machine Ricky and Lucy bring for a trade in in the commercial  looks to me to be a 1949-54 Maytag AMP model. If it had been the "Epernay" washer from the Never Do Business With Friends episode it would have had towel rack type handles on its sides and the lid would have had a window in it.....PAT COFFEY
