I owned one similar to this that I bought new in 1987 and used for 7 trouble free years. It was one of the very best, if not the best washer I’ve owned out of over 23 washers I’ve owned since 1972. It always washed, rinsed and spun out every load without being temperamental, unlike the FL’s of today. And every load was done in about 40 mins, or less. It could wash all our king size comforters, blankets and bedspreads thoroughly, and didn’t balk at going into a spin. The spin started out slow to balance the load and gradually increased speed while remaining in balance. There was no endless hunting for “the sweet spot” to begin spinning. And it used an adequate amount of water to assure a clean and well rinsed wash, without being wasteful.
If they still made FL’s like these I’d buy another. But I have no interest whatsoever in any of the new FL’s now offered.
And as far as comparison to a “true Westinghouse FL”, to me it didn’t seem to be a whole lot different in performance to my aunts 55’ Westy, except more cycle selections being available and a larger capacity, and probably a faster spin speed.
