WOW!!!!!!

Way to go Paul! You must be so excited to get both washers up and running in one weekend. I can't wait to see the Westy washing video. Congrats! Don

More progress...

And it's all good news! I did the first water tests this weekend. The experience gained from the L5 rebuild was put to good use - knowing what to look for helps!
The pump cover had been an issue and sure enough, on the CLB-6, I had some leaks. Solution - Liquid Gasket.

Next, I reinstalled the front panel. I think the tub may be sitting too high in the cabinet (the boot seems tight at the top)... Like with the L5, I am using a Q-4699 door boot instead of the Q-4688 which is the exact replacement.
And, like with the L5, there was some water leaking from around the door...

However, a strip of closed-cell foam weatherstripping tape on the inside rim of the door glass did the trick. Unlike the L5, I chose not to take the door apart to seat the weatherstripping. I was very pleased to find that this was enough to stop the leaks!

The next steps...

I got through a partial cycle test sucessfully - I would like to hook this baby up to hot and cold inlets and a reliable drain for a wash test soon! Hopefully in 2 weeks time when I am back down in Ogden...
I am now also weighing up what to do about the cabinet. I didn't paint it while the tub was out and I think I regret that now... I could still paint it, but if I did, I know I would have to paint the dryer, too.. I guess I will have to wait for the weather to improve for that.
But the machine is running nicely and actually seems to 'handle' differently than the L5 if that makes any sense. Needless to say, I am looking forward to that first wash test....
