Westy come-lately...

This is a Westy-built washer - one of the first couple years building their own models. Westinghouse didn't become a top(loader) until later in it's appliance life, 1963. There were two models built by Easy from 1961-62 with solid tubs. Velvapower!

Westhinghouse T/L Washer.....

And if memory serves me correctly, I think the model picture above is a mid 1960's model (i.e. -- 1964 to about no later than 1967).

P.S.: Too bad it doesn't hardly spin.....

I think you're about right, I'll get my Westy book out tomorrow night and look it up...

This design had the pump mounted to the top of the drive motor, not a good arrangement if a seal goes bad - it could take the motor with it. Other than a few quirks like that, it was a fun washer to watch. This one probably has a big, black ramp agitator.

If it's a slow spin, it might need a new belt or belt adjustment. Something caught in the between the basket and outer tub, a bad speed switch or timer or some of these had a strange pulley and solenoid arrangement to slow down the spin during pump-out that could be not working properly or a bad winding in the motor.
