What are nos burners worth?

I don't want to say my source, but I found two NOS burners for my 1950 Frigidaire. They want $40 for the large burner (which is lightly scuffed, but not used) and $50 for a small burner which is near mint. Just debating if I should get them for spares or not.

Curious about something in your pic. You have the Philco fridge over by the range but what are the two handles part of that show in the very foreground of the pic? Looks like handles to a modern fridge/freezer.

P.S. Really like that range hood. Well the whole kitchen actually.

That picture is a little dated now, but at the time, I still had my 2007 GE in the kitchen. The 1957 Philco just doesn't quite have big enough of a freezer for modern use... especially when the frost kicks in. The GE has moved into the garage now, and the Philco is the only fridge in my kitchen currently and the hutch to my Broyhill Saga set has taken it's place. This picture was taken last year when I first put it in. I have since centered the china cabinet top.

The range hood was found on the side of the road (before the scrapers came! score!). Though sadly the guts had issues, so my friend Dave, volvoguy87, helped me take the guts out of a modern range hood and put it under the hood itself. As you can see the kitchen has come a long way since 2008. The vintage appliances, make it look great! I never was a fan of that glass top Amana. It cooked ok, but the damaged control panel just got on my nerves.

That said, how about those burners?

Sweet. It does look so much better with the vintage appliances.

Vertigo...One of my favorites along with Rear Window and North by Northwest. And the score from the movie is great. Hitchcock was a cinematic genius. Hard to believe that it didnt do well when released.

I think the burners could be worth getting, although I don't know how difficult used ones are to find, or for that matter, stoves that they could be harvested from.

You could try offering $75 for both. The economics of supply & demand have to be considered with this sort of thing.

I used to switch on the 8" burner on my mom's '49 Westinghouse with bated breath every time. I had found spares for the 6" ones, but the nature of the beast suggests that fewer 8" sizes were produced.

You will probably never need those surface units. John has quite a stash that are not new, but that are in good condition. Let those people who consider them such treasures enjoy them for another decade or so unless you just want to have them to hold and enjoy. Unless abused, Radiantubes proved to be very, very durable. Radiantubes also show up on eBay from time to time for less money.
