What did the AFCO(American Furnace Company) Comfortmaker furnaces look like?

Hi Everyone,

I'm curious about the AFCO(American Furnace Company) Comfortmaker furnaces.

Does anyone know what they look like?
How many burners did they have what kind of blower fan did those furnaces have? Did they have belt driven or direct drive blower fans?

They were never sold around here, I have never seen one.

AFCO furnace

They were what they called "low-boy" furnaces, large barrel type heat exchanger,with a large door on one end, and a belt driven blower located in the back with its own door, I worked on quite a few when I lived in Quincy, IL during HVAC school. They were usually a nice silvery-blue colour, and a very nice chrome AFCO bezel on the door. The ones I worked on were from the 1940s and 1950s, sad to say a few my company replaced and scraped, but I saved the AFCO chrome bezels. I saw some amazing early gas furnaces in that city, some gravity non-blower models with large square cast iron burners, the AfCOs used a cast iron burner as well and the flame came out in a circle like a stove in the middle of the round heat exchanger. My parents rental house still has the 100 year old coal furnace, converted to gas in the 1950s but still heats the home with gravity, no blower.

My parent's house had a 1960 Moncreif furnace in it and mom my used it until she dies in 2007. I had a 1964 Green Colonial in my house until 2006 when I put in a new, more energy efficient one. We always lived in Illinois.

Lennox

My house has a 1950s "low-boy" Lennox furnace, it's been through many a flooded basement without issues, have been thinking of a new 90 percent furnace but one flooded basement and the control board would be toast! lol. I installed a used 1965 Lennox central AC unit on it years ago and never had anything go wrong with it. Lennox made some great stuff, not sure how the new stuff is, think its all gone cheap like everything else.

Do you have any pics of your Lennox units? I loved the old AC units with the horizontal discharge fan, or tombstone units!

here's my 1965 Lennox central cooling unit and my 1950s Lennox lowboy furnace, someone long before I was around painted it, don't mind that LOL, nothing pretty but its been working along and been through many basement floods. (house is next to a creek)

This website focuses mostly on washers, dryers, dishwashers and generally other kitchen and small appliances.... not necessarily HVAC systems.  Some people out here may have some general knowledge about them, but this may be the wrong place for such specific questions like this.
