What do you use to clean your bathroom & kitchen with?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

I use Comet to clean the toilets, kitchen sink, and stove and sometimes the counter tops. My mother and grandmother always used Comet or Ajax

In a spray bottle I mixed some Pine-Sol, a little bit of bleach and water. I use that on the kitchen counters and floors.

clean the bathroom..?

...Silly question....Rose, or Daisy, the Housemaids deal with all that- oh- I have to discuss the meals with Mrs Bridges- Hudson, please ask her to come upstairs, will you?

Yes they do, but I have only seen it online. I think it competes with Simple Green and other concentrates.

Lysol, Lysol, Lysol, Scrubbing Bubbles

Lysol "Basin,Tub, and Tile Cleaner" spray or Down "Foaming Bubbles" for surfaces. Lysol "Disenfectant" liquid in either the old brown bottles or the newer kitchen and bath formulas.

Everynow and then will find gallon jugs of hospital grade clener at a good price and will nab one of those.

Comet is fine, but tends to leave grit and or white residue.

Will also mix up a small spray bottle of water and cleaner to keep on hand for daily tidying up of the bathroom in between full cleanings.

syndets2000 (Re: Upstairs Downstairs)

Your reference to "Upstairs Downstairs" made me chuckle: the BBC are bringing it back for a three part mini-series, sometime over the Christmas period, BBC1.

Supposed to be set in the 1930s, Rose is now housekeeper. Eileen Atkins who previously co-wrote the series with Jean Marsh (Rose), now appears in front of the camera.

I did a search for Janitor in a Drum it's still made but not int the cute drum looking bottle :-). Every once in a while I will get Simple Green instead of Mean Green.

I love the powdered Spic-n-Span for the bathroom. It rinses so clean with no residue like cleansers have. I also use Formula 409 in the kitchen. Just tried Fabuloso spray instead of 409 and it seems to work pretty well also.

I use ammonia in the kitchen if I feel the need to clean up after greasy or oily food preparations, and bleach once a week for that sanitized feeling. The Spic n Span spray works nicely to clean and shine, and has a nice smell. I do use Comet or Ajax to clean the sink. The bathroom I use Comet or Ajax for the tub, toilet, and sink. I use window cleaner, or Comet spray, or the Spic n Span spray for a daily wipe down on sink and toilet surfaces. I also do like Fantastic, 409, or (Cinch if I can find it), and Lestoil.

Arm & Hammer

Last night I cleaned a toilet bowl with Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda. It worked great and was very easy to use.
