What does the sun symbol mean on my siemens dryer?

Hay, as most members may know i have recently bought a siemens dryer, so far ive been fairly impressedbut there is a symbol th the shape of a sun and i looked this up in the manual and it dident make any sense so if any one here can help me i will be very very greatful

well what does the manual actually say?

"the drying result (eg,cupboard dry) can be increased in three stages (1-3) for the programmes cottons-colourds easy care mixed fabrics and rapid 40 presetting = 0
after one of these programmes has been finely ajusted, the setting is retained for others" it doesent make an ounce of sense

Could it have a UV lamp/ozone generator inside? A few TOL US dryers did that for a time. Smells like outdoors.

nope, its just a sensor heat pump dryer

Sounds like it calibrates the drying sensors... like on most sensor dryers.

Its just like a fine tuning thing like your TV would have.

What i call Iron dry may not be what you call iron dry or suitable for what your iron can handle for instance so it enables you to lessen or increase the drying levels within the settings.

My microwave has this option to adjust cooking levels on its sensor cook programmes so that many tastes are catered for. it will define that level of sensitivty on all programmes so no need to re adjust.

try it on a lower level and see how you get on with that first then if the results are not to your liking up it by one setting until you get the results you like.

Damp Dry For Ironing

Various fabrics will require different levels of remaining moisture to be properly ironed.

Generally linen should be quite damp, cotton less so and man made fibers should be removed from the dryer whilst barely moist (but cool) and smoothed into shape/hung to dry.

If one were pegging one's laundry out on the line,one would take things down as they reached the proper level of dampness, the dryer has been designed to give users the ability to fine tune how "damp" things should be based upon their own preferences.
