What happened to the vintage consumer reports on AW a few years ago?

I tried searching the forums for what happened to the vintage consumer reports but came up empty. So I figured it could not hurt to ask.

Also since vacuumland is also under the same umbrella what happend to the CR there?

After doing some heavy duty study of copyright law, I realized that the site was not in legal compliance by having those posted so I had no choice but to remove them.

Which is a great loss

Have a set of "buying guides" from the 1950's and they are very informative. One of my best sources besides this lot for information regarding vintage appliances.

Consumers Union is really strict about copyright. Even Google books had to turn around years ago and stop archiving back issues to show for "free".
