Can't answer about Charmin, but Cottonelle is only 4.25 in.

Incidentally, Consumer Reports mentioned one time that Charmin was not a good choice for septic tanks as it didn't break up well. Other brands were OK.

Italian toilet paper...

Seeing all this shrinking on american paper made me wonder how tall a roll of paper sold here was...

And TADA! All those I have at home (shop brand 1, made in Lucca (IT), shop brand 2, made in Lucca (IT) by another firm, Tenderly from Georgia-Pacific, again made in Lucca and another store brand 3, this time not made in Lucca but nearby (gosh! But all the Italian toilet paper comes from the Lucca province in Tuscany?!?!?!)

guess what?
THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME HEIGHT OF 9,5 cm (3,74 inches!) gosh! That's way smaller that yours in the US! But luckly more than enough for me hahahha :D but I hope my arse won't grow any bigger ahahhahah

Yes! I was just going to bring those up! You usually found them in gas stations and airports a long time ago. Why have glossy toilet paper? It doesn't absorb anything at all. And I also hate those dispensers that use a roll, but only dispense one sheet at a time.

There ought to be a law.....

In Europe there are places where you are expected to bring your own TP along, none supplied.

And there are those who only want you to use just one sheet per visit to the bath...

There's also a charming story in Gerald Durrell's classic book, "My Family and Other Animals", where he discusses his family's first few weeks on the Greek island of Corfu. They were staying at a decaying hotel in town, and after people attended to their natural needs some in the family were complaining about the lack of toilet paper in the bath. Then Gerald's teenage sister piped up and said, "Oh, there's plenty, in the little box by the toilet".

She spent the rest of the day scrubbing herself clean when it was explained that due to the ancient plumbing in the hotel, no tissue was allowed to be flushed. Instead, soiled tissue was placed in the ... you guessed it ... box by the toilet.

Pretty sure that mushy Cottonelle was with aloe, we have had it for what seems like months, and everytime I use the toilet, it seems like another roll has surfaced. We usually buy Angel Soft (I don't care who makes it or how, as long as it does its intended job!), and I also like the Scott extra soft.
